Cuisine






The food of this region is popularly known for its Malvani Cuisine. Sindhudurg is dominated by Coconut, Rice and Fish which is a significant part of their diet. One our features in Sindhudurg is the Culinary Trail. Where you spend time visiting the local market. Purchase the food items available and then return to one of our traditional homes where you are guided by the homeowner about the authentic Malwani cuisine. Seafood especially the prawns, pomfret, bombay duck, soloman and mussels are very popular here. Kombdi Vade, Ukadya Tandulachi Pej and Sol Kadi is a must try when you travel to Sindhudurg.  Lets not forget the King of Fruits. Yes indeed... Mangoes are one of the delicious fruits that are grown in this region. Variety of Alphonso Mangoes from Devgard are particularly popular. The other varieties of mangoes like Mankur, Payari and Karel are specially used to make pickle because of their distinct taste.

We should not leave the vegetarians alone. We do have some delicious vegetarian dishes like garyache sandan, pickle of karmal, bimble, amba halad, karadichi bhakri, kanyacha sanja, appe, ghavan, dalmichi usual and cashew usual...
